Review and explain Comprehensive Affect Testing System (CATS). Review and demonstrate administration of the RICE-3. Demonstrate administration of the BURNS. Review informal functional assessment approaches.
2. Treatment of Hemispatial Neglect
Review goal statements and visual scanning therapy. Review (and demonstrate) the Lighthouse Strategy. Review other visuospatial strategies and functional goals for reading, writing, and ADL's.
3. Evidence-Based Treatment of Right Hemisphere Cognitive-Communication Deficits
Review considerations for goal setting with patients who are unaware of some deficits (anosognosia). Review treatment of emotional perception deficits. Examine group treatment, treatment of social communication deficits. Describe the Rosenbek et al (2006) ABAC Imitative Treatment (Prosody) and Cognitive-Linguistic Treatment.
